General Engineering Purposes Rectangular Tube is a hollow steel bar made of mild steel. It is hot-rolled and welded into a rectangular shape. Rectangular tubes are typically stocked in 6 metre lengths. Tubes are sized by their wall thickness and outside diameter. Special features of these tubes include that they can be cut to size by band saw cutting, laser cutting, bending or being rolled to radius. All tubing is produced in accordance with SANS 657-1. General Engineering Purposes Rectangular Tube is typically used for maintenance and non-structural purposes, such as in carports, fences, electric fencing, security doors, gates, exhaust pipes and as steel frames. These rectangular tubes are for non-pressured applications.
