Bright Bar Round Drawn 080A42 (EN 8D)

Bright Bar Round Drawn 080A42 (EN 8D) is a medium carbon and medium tensile steel used mainly in applications requiring a higher strength than Mild Steel for manufacturing automotive and general engineering components.  It has reasonable machining and welding capabilities.  Suitable for heat treatment where extra strength is required.

Applications:	080A42 is a medium carbon and medium tensile steel used mainly for applications requiring a higher strength than Mild Steel e.g. axles, spindles, studs, automotive and general engineering components. Suitable for heat treatment where extra strength is required. Fine grain condition (available on request) is recommended for all heat treatment applications. Reasonable machining and welding capabilities. It is also used for U bolts, concrete re-enforcing rods, forgings and non-critical springs.
