817M40 (EN 24) is a chrome-nickel-moly steel used for a wide range of general purpose engineering parts. It is capable of being heat treated to produce good tensile strengths combined with good ductility, resistance to shock and wear resistance characteristics. The shafts 817M40 (EN24) is stocked in an as rolled / forged condition as well as condition T (248-302HB). Heat treatment to other conditions are also possible depending on the size’s limited ruling section. 817M40 (EN24) is generally stocked in round black bar.
709M40 (EN19) is a versatile low alloyed steel. This grade offers good ductility and shock resisting properties combined with wear resistance. The 709M40 (EN 19) shafts are stocked as rolled / forged condition as well as condition T (248-302HB). Heat treatment to other conditions are also possible depending on the size’s limited ruling section. 709M40 (EN19) is typically stocked in round black bar.
826M40 (EN 26) is a 2.5% nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloyed steel with higher tensile properties suitable for applications that require higher tensile than the 817M40. 826M40 can be induction or flame hardened and is suitable for nitriding. 826M40 (EN 26) is stocked in round black bar as rolled / forged conditions only.

835M30 (EN 30B) is a 4% Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum through hardening alloyed steel which can harden in large sections, giving strengths of over 1550 MPa. 835M30 can be used for many purposes where toughness and high strength are require. This steel is used for applications requiring high tensile strengths for which more drastic quenches would produce distortion or cracking, especially in parts of intricate design. 835M30 (EN 30B) is stocked as round black bar.
