Whether directly or indirectly, we are the supplier of choice for most Mining contracts and projects. Products we offer the sector include a full range of valve products, cementation piping, Victaulic couplings, electromagnetic flow meters. Prefabricated flanged, shouldered and grooved pipe is carried in stock to minimise lead times.
We supply pipes and a comprehensive range of Fittings, and Valves to this sector. Pipe systems include flanged, Rolled, Grooved, Cut Grooved, shouldered and Propriety Systems such as the Lula and Cable Lock with a variety of protective coatings including the trademarked TOSAWRAP®. We also supply the sector with a comprehensive range of Bermad hydraulic control valves, filter systems, butterfly valves and NATCO commodity valves
Inland or offshore we are well versed in the oil and gas industry requirements. We carry the full range of approved seamless pipes and fittings, LnT approved gate, globe and check valves, Armstrong steam equipment and Smith valve interlock systems. Macsteel Fluid Control employs its own team of onsite technicians to assist with lock surveys, steam trap surveys and repairs. Our QC department is suitably qualified to ensure that all the clients QC requirements are met and exceeded.

What is the pressure rating of pipe?
Pressure rating is determined by different variables of which the most important is the type of pipe joint (i.e. flanged, butt-weld, threaded or coupled) incorporated in to the pipe system.

What is nominal bore?
“Nominal” refers to pipe in non-specific terms and identifies the diameter of the hole with a non-dimensional number (for example – 2-inch nominal steel pipe) consists of many varieties of steel pipe with the only criterion being a 2.375-inch (60.3 mm) outside diameter.

What is pipe schedule?
Specific pipe is identified by pipe diameter and another non-dimensional numbers for wall thickness referred to as the Schedule (Sched. or Sch., for example – “2 inch diameter pipe, Schedule 40”).

Where does the schedule come from?
Certain pipe thicknesses follow a set formula, expressed as the “schedule number” as established by the American Standards Association (ASA) now re-organised as ANSI – the American National Standards Institute. Eleven schedule numbers are available for use: 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, & 160.

What is the lead time for delivery?
The lead time is depended on stock availability and the client’s location. The delivery date is dependent on the client’s geographic location which has a direct influence on the route plan. The delivery dates will be communicated to the client by our sales team. Every effort is made to get goods to the customer as soon as possible, this is always dependent on volume per delivery route. On many of our fixed delivery routes we have a predetermined schedule when we deliver. There is flexibility to this schedule.
