CABLE-LOCK™ Pipe System

The CABLE-LOCK™ system is a cable locked integrated spigot and socket steel pipe system. It uses a tried and tested socket design like that used in plastic pipe systems, with the addition of a retaining flex cable positioned in front of the seal to lock the pipes together.

How it works

Each pipe is manufactured with an integrated spigot and socket end. A flex cable is inserted through an aperture in the socket groove and seated into a matching groove on the spigot. The cable sits around the full circumference of the joint, providing a strong restraint mechanism.

When the system is pressurised, the pipes will not push apart. This removes the need for thrust blocks and reduces installation time and cost.

Size range

CABLE-LOCK™ pipes are available from 50NB to 250NB, with a full range of fabricated fittings available.

This system has been successfully installed at major operations including Anglo Platinum, BHP Billiton, Exxaro, Sasol and Rand Water, demonstrating its reliability in demanding conditions.

LULA™ and LULA-LOCK™ Pipe Systems

The LULA™ system is a steel pipe and fitting range rolled to plastic pipe outside diameters, complete with an integral socket and rubber seal ring. It is fully interchangeable with plastic pipes and fittings.

LULA-LOCK™ uses the same socket system as plastic pipe systems, with the option of a retaining wire incorporated in front of the seal to lock the pipes together for added security.
