080M40 (EN 8) is a common medium carbon steel with improved strength over mild steel. 080M40 (EN 8) steel is mostly used in the as supplied untreated condition but can be heat-treated further to improve its mechanical properties. 080M40 En8 shafts can be ordered in round bar or square bar.
150M19 (EN 14B) is a medium tensile, low carbon manganese steel which is readily weldable and features good impact resistance. The material is capable of through hardening by quenching and tempering on limited sections. Machinability is similar to that of mild steel. 150M19 (EN 14B) Is stocked in round bar and available upon request only.
070M20 (EN3A) is a general purpose mild steel for welded or riveted structures, forgings, machined parts, hot pressing, etc. 070M20 (EN 3A) will withstand a moderate amount of cold deformation and only offers low strength, but good machinability. This material is generally used in the as rolled or as forged condition and is stocked in a round bar form.
070M55 (EN 9) is a medium carbon steel with good tensile strength. It provides good wear resistance, but poor weldability because of its high carbon content. The steel can be flame or induction hardened to produce a high surface hardness with excellent wear resistance for a carbon steel grade. 070M55 (EN 9) black bar is available in round bar.
